AHRC’s Vocational & Supported Employment Services provide subcontracting services to area businesses and industries in a vocational training center based in Freeport. Individuals over the age of 21 become supported or full competitive employees for local businesses.

Our mission is to teach, support and advocate for individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities to make life choices, exercise independence and develop responsibility. For over 60 years, AHRC Nassau has encouraged all individuals to become productive members of the community. For individuals capable of community employment, AHRC Nassau is committed to providing meaningful job opportunities in the community, alongside a traditional workforce.

Assembly & Packaging Services

We can help your business! AHRC Nassau Packaging and Assembly has provided a quality, competitively priced workforce to the community and nation since 1970. AHRC Nassau’s Vocational Center is a 115k sq. ft. facility located in Freeport within a mile of the Meadowbrook State Parkway. We have multiple trucks, our own receiving and shipping warehouses and two full-time mechanics on premises.

Landscaping Services

AHRC Landscape Design and Maintenance provides a wide array of Landscaping Services. We are an affiliate of New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID) and we provide services to the Freeport Armory, Department of Labor in Hicksville, and New York Power Authority in Holtsville and Brentwood.

AHRC Greenhouse

Located on AHRC’s scenic Brookville campus, the AHRC Greenhouse has been in business for more than 20 years. The Freeport Vocational Training Center’s landscaping crews assist the Greenhouse horticulturalists in transplanting and maintaining spring crops grown throughout the year from February. The Greenhouse carries an assortment of annual flats, geraniums, New Guinea Impatiens and trailing hanging baskets. Crews assist in planting annuals in the gardens throughout AHRC’s idyllic Brookville campus, as well as cultivating large vegetable and herb gardens for harvest. The Greenhouse is open to the public and has a variety of flowers, hanging baskets and decorations for your special garden.

Commercial Cleaning

AHRC’s Commercial Cleaning Services provides excellent employment opportunities for its commercial cleaners and outstanding services to its customers, including but not limited to the Department of Motor Vehicles in Massapequa, Department of Labor in Hicksville, and various UCPN group homes in Nassau County.
